Staring October 1, 2019, Philippine passport holders may apply for a hassle-free electronic visa (e-visa) to visit Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad in Russia, according to Russian Embassy in the Philippines.
An application form can be found on the Embassy’s website and the e-visa will be issued within four calendar days, including bank holidays and weekends.
As the press secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Natalia Linovitskaya stated in a report, “Any other documents that confirm the purpose of your visit to Russia are not required.”
Visitors may stay in these cities for 8 days if granted a visa. The embassy reiterated that entry and exit by means of rail transport is currently unavailable.
“Saint-Petersburg is absolutely beautiful. It is like a mecca of historical and cultural and architectural landmarks,” Linovitskaya said.
Aside from the Philippines, Singapore, China, Taiwan, North Korea and 52 other countries, are the beneficiaries of the free e-visa offered by the Russian government.
