The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) released an advisory for residents after thunderstorms slashed parts of the country on Saturday. Authorities have issued a weather alert on Sunday.
In a series of tweets, NCEMA advised residents to observe weather changes and follow weather forecasts on media.
Moreover, Authorities also advised motorists to be take extra cautious during the sudden weather changes, reduce speed, avoid overtaking, and turn on lights when necessary.
“Avoid flooded areas as flowing water could make you lose control over the car,” the advisory added.
In addition, the NCEMA reminded to minimize the use of mobile phones during thunderstorms expect in urgent cases.
Lastly, police and civil defense recommends to cancel or avoid unnecessary trips following the unstable weather condition.
