Manila Mayor Isko Moreno donated his talent fees amounting to P5 million to quake-hit Cotabato, Manila Public Affairs said on Friday.
The 3 million talent fee came from pharmaceutical company Pascual Laboratories, and P2 million fee from cosmetic dermatology and surgery expert Belo Medical Group will be given as aid to quake victims, the Manila Public Information Office reported.
Cotabato was jolted by series of quakes since October 16, recording massive structural casualties and injuring 60 people on top of 7 deaths.
The earthquake’s destructive force totaled to 23 deaths with 2 others missing and 618 injured, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
Phivolcs recently said that the Philippines stands on the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, an arc of intense seismic activity that reaches from Japan up to the Southeast Asia and across the basin of the Pacific.
Mayor Isko also donated his talent fees to the Philippine General Hospital, the country’s largest government health institution.
