Pinay skier secures spot at 2020 Youth Olympics

Ana Noelle Wahleithner defies odd as she became the first Filipina to qualify for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

Ana Noelle, offspring of Lady Angela Reynaldo Wahleithner and James Wahleithner, gathered points in different International Federation of Skiing (FIS).

During an interview, Angela gave a timetable of how her child qualified for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, which will transpire in Lausanne, Switzerland, in January 2020.

Angela, born in Davao said, “When she turned 15-and-a-half in 2018, she became an athlete registered under the Philippines with an FIS license. She became the youngest female alpine skier to represent the country and the license allows Ana to race in international competitions.”

The proud mother insisted that the opportunity to become the first Pinay to represent the Philippines was extra motivation for her daughter.

“Having a goal to represent the Philippines in an international winter sports event is an honor,” said the proud mother.

The young Olympian will participate in alpine ski races through the entire 19 to 20 season including tournaments after the Youth Olympics.

Lastly, the humble mother stated, “Ana exceeded our expectations, and our entire family is very proud of her.”
