Grace Esmaya, a private school teacher, scanned and browsed as may online stores as she can, believing that being keen and relentless should be applied in shopping.
The 24-year old teacher will be one of some 50 million shoppers clicking on online market stores, Shopee and Lazada, on November 11, where in 80 million discounts are up for grabs in 24-hour sale.
Looking back, the two largest online shopping applications in the Philippines enlisted stars like Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Cristiano Ronaldo, and adding a twist to shopping organizing games and flash deals.
Avid online shopper like Esmaya advised new shoppers to make the most out of 11-11, especially those who want have their Christmas gift ready beforehand.
Esmaya calculated that for every a thousand purchased in online shopping sale, she save P100 to P200.
“It’s not really a matter of who gets to check the sale first in the app or website, because online shopping sales are not like seat sales in airlines. It’s actually about who is willing to do an intensive search of discounted items,” she told ABS-CBN
On another perspective, Lydelle Agaton, a barista, prioritizes online shopping because it spares her from chaotic traffic jam.
“Kung saan may biggest savings, doon ako (I shop where I can save the most),” she said.
Recorded last year, the top-selling selling items in Lazada were electronic, baby products, and health and beauty goods.
Meanwhile, Shopee mostly sold items on health, beauty, and electronics.
