Mariah Carey back in Dubai for Expo 2020 free concert

The multi-awarded, American global superstar Mariah Carey will perform live in UAE on October 20, to start off the ‘One Year to Go’ Expo 2020 Dubai countdown at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai.

Over 7,500 audiences are expected to witness the free concert. Together with five-time Grammy awardee, Hussain Al Jassmi, an Emirati singer, and Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor will join the list of amazing guest performers.

“As we celebrate a momentous milestone on the journey to the Expo 2020, there is an ever-growing sense of excitement and togetherness throughout the UAE. This will be reflected in the seven ‘One Year to Go’ events around the emirates, showcasing the inclusive and collaborative spirit of the UAE,” Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, said.

“Across the nation, people of all ages and backgrounds will enjoy an evening of unparalleled entertainment and excitement. We’re delighted to welcome two stellar musical acts to the Dubai stage with Mariah Carey and Hussain Al Jassmi. The seven celebrations will not only wow everyone, they will also serve as a glimpse into why Expo 2020 will be the World’s Greatest Show,” he added.

On top of this, simultaneous festivities will take place across the six other emirates at Louvre Abu Dhabi, Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, Ajman Museum, Umm Al Qaiwain Corniche, Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah and the Fujairah Fort.

Ticket reservations sold like hot cakes when it opened online on October 7.

Expo 2020 kick offs will run from October 20, 2020, until April 10, 2021. Under the theme, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,’ 192 countries will participate and will feature 60 live shows everyday 200 dining outlets, newest technologies, A-list performers, exhibits, and many more.
