The Kapamilya actress Maja Salvador hailed as best actress in the recent Asia Contents Awards 2019 organized by Busan International Film Festival and Asia Film Market in Busan, South Korea.

It is the first Asia Contents Awards aims to reward the finest TV dramas produced across Asia in the last five years.

Salvador was recognized for her role as the indestructible, Lily Cruz and Ivy Aguas in 2017-2018 Philippine teleserye, “Wildflower.”

The now “The Killer Bride” star flew to South Korea with the “Wildflower” director Raymond Ocampo and ABS-CBN Production Manager Maru Benitez. Her boyfriend, Rambo Nunez, didn’t miss the chance to support his girlfriend.

“It was an honor to be trusted with this role by our network, ABS-CBN, and the whole team of Wildflower,” she said in her acceptance speech.

“Yung ma-nominate ka lang okay na, pero ‘yung manalo ka lalo na Busan International Film Festival tapos first Asia Contents Awards. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na parang bitbit mo ang buong Pilipinas, parang ang pakiramdam ko nanalo ako ng Miss Universe,” she told ABS-CBN News.

She specifically thanked veteran actor Tirso Cruz III for encouraging her to be a better actress. “(He) upped my game and encouraged me when I thought I had nothing more to give.”

Wildflower was also nominated as Best Asian TV Drama but lost to Thailand’s Hormones and Singapore’s Faculty.

“It was my birthday yesterday, so happy birthday indeed sa akin,” she added.

The TV drama currently airs in New, Caledonia, Polynesia as well as several French-speaking African coutries and will soon air in Madagascar.
