Moreover, only five trains will operate from Cubao to Recto and vise-versa, Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) spokesperson Atty. Hernando Cabrera said.
These five trains were located on the other side of the fire that affected the rectifiers in Katipunan and Anonas stations on Thursday.
“Seven (trains) ‘yung naipit kaya lang dahil sa power consideration, hanggang lima lang ang puwede nating gamitin,” Cabrera said.
It was previously reported that Santolan, Katipuan, and Anonas stations would be down for nine months.
Cabrera then stated that the cause of the fire was telecommunications and power supply.
“Mayroon tayong issues doon sa telecommunications at sa power supply. Para maka-hook up tayo dito (sa Cubao station), gumawa tayo ng adjustments sa ating procedure tapos nag-simulate tayo (ng operation),” he said.
Meanwhile, the LRTA administered safety runs since Saturday and resumed operations after 2-day trial run.
“Tuloy-tuloy (na) ‘yan,” he said, pointing to the operations that resumed on Tuesday.
On the other hand, these partial operations will cause the train for longer waiting time and slower running speed.
