Emirates is looking to expand in hiring more UAE nationals to magnify its workforce, with an attractive salary package starting Dh 18,000 per month for cabin crew positions.
“The position is open to all nationalities but we are looking to hire as many Emiratis as possible,” Abdulaziz Al Ali, Executive Vice-President of human resources at Emirates Group, told reporters on Wednesday. In line with this, the Dubai based-airline is targeting to recruit at least 3,000 cabin crew globally.
Out of 20,000 cabin crew of Emirates only on 50 of them are UAE citizens. With this move, more Emiratis will certainly be interested flying with Emirates.
A successful Emirati candidate for the position will be compensated Dh 18,000 a month. On top of this, a monthly retention allowance between Dh 4,000 to Dh 5,000, free transportation and other benefits are provided. “We have an open door policy and we are hiring as many Emiratis we can,” said Ali.
The screening process will take two weeks for the cabin crew position and it will be followed by a seven-week vigorous training before they can be part of the world class airline.
Al Ali said that the next cabin crew should have a good behavior, pleasant social skills and care for customers, for these traits reflect the brand of the Emirates.
As part of empowering Emiratis, the Emirates plans to conduct career development for senior position in the engineering, ground services and management teams.
