Gamboa denies favoritism amid major shake-up

Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa on Monday denied that “bata-bata” system exist in the police organization right after the major shake-up in some police officials.

The other day, OIC Gamboa ordered a major revamp in the police organization following the President’s disappointment regarding the issue of police officials recycling drugs.

I don’t know ano sinasabi nilang favoritism or ‘bata-bata,’ lahat naman ng pulis, bata ko,” Gamboa said during a press conference.

Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac earlier stated that some officials were not satisfied with the OIC’s decisions.

Moreover, Banac said the major shake-up was part of the career development of all cops.

Lastly, Banac reassured to the public that the PNP supports Gamboa and his programs despite the disappointment.
