DTI discusses business and investment opportunities to OFWs in Singapore

Cynthia Ricafort, Philippine Trade and Investment Center Commercial Counsellor in Singapore, delivered a presentation on business and investment opportunities in the Philippines at “#FinanciallyLiteratePH” event held in Tampines, Singapore.

Ricafort presented franchising opportunities and business trends to over 150 Filipino attendees, and highlighted the programs of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Philippines. The initiative will support the soon to be entrepreneurs and Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Furthermore, the counsellor insisted that the DTI programs, which are Negosyo Center, Shared Services and Facilities, Mentor ME, and SME Roving Academy, were made available all over the Philippines in order to reach and enable every Filipinos including families of OFWs in the Philippines, stressing that the agency looks forward in seeing OFWs become productive business owners.

During the event, Ricafort showed testimonial videos of successful program beneficiaries to urge and inspire the audience for their business aspirations.

To cap the event, an inspirational talk on Women Entrepreneurship was shared by Josephine Gotianun Yap, the President and CEO of Filinvest Development Corporation and also the wife of Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph Del Mar Yap.
