New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen is “100% confident” captain Kieran Read is fit for Saturday’s World Cup semi-final against England.
The 33-year old captain is looking forward for his third World Cup after leading the All Blacks to a landslide victory, 46-14, against Ireland in the quarter finals.
“There’s no issue,” said the coach.
“We just weren’t prepared to put him on a wet track today,” the coach added.
Furthermore, the All Blacks scored seven tries against Ireland on Saturday, including one when they were down to 14 players.
Tournament favorites New Zealand overpowered opponents in the pool stage, beating the crowd favorite South Africa 23-13 in their opening game.
“It’s our job to do something different, you practice it, implement it. If it works you’re a superstar and if it doesn’t you’re an idiot,” Coach Hansen said.
