A discourse “may take a while” whether suspension or reduction of toll rates at the South Luzon Expressway, Bonoan stated.

A resolution was filed by Laguna Rep. Sol Aragones seeking to suspend or reduce toll at SLEX for 6 months, saying the construction of the skyway cause severe inconvenience to the motorists.

Meanwhile, Manuel Bonoan, Skyway O&M Corp president, stated that “We are in the process of discussing this with the Toll Regulatory Board kasi maraming aspeto nito ang pag-uusapan. We have to look at it from the broader perspective, broader objective dito sa pag-ibsan ng traffic.”

“It may take a while, depending on the merit of the discussion,” he added.

370,000 motorists pass around SLEX daily, and almost half of it pass through the skyway, Aragones said.

On the other hand, the Skyway extension will be completed by December 2020 and it aims to eliminate the chokepoint in Alabang viaduct, SOMCO earlier said.

Lastly, Senator Grace Poe earlier pushed SLEX managers to cut toll rates.
