Sarah Geronimo’s realistic portrayal as mentally challenged person in the movie ‘Unforgettable’ wowed Autism Society Philippines.

Teacher Cecile Sicam, co-founder of the Autism Society Philippines, served as a consultant during filming.

“Sarah Geronimo did a wonderful job! She captured their unwavering loyalty, singularity of purpose and the depths of their distress! She met with young adults on the spectrum in preparing for her role. Thank you to the creative minds and kind hearts of Direk Jun Robles Lana, Direk Perci Intalan, The IdeaFirst Company and VIVA Films for this “gift” to the #autism advocacy community!“, the agency said.

According to Autism Society Philippines’ Facebook account, “Unforgettable” is a story of a young neuro-diverse woman’s determined journey. It is a positive portrayal of a person on the spectrum — without the tired exaggerations and stereotypes. It portrayed the condition in the context of Filipino family life; and gave the character dignity and enviable fortitude.
