HBO confirms ‘House of the Dragon,’ the GoT prequel series

Fire will reign once more as HBO confirms the prequel series to Game of Thrones, ‘House of the Dragon,’ that is set to launch in the new HBO Max.

The new show is based on George R.R Martin’s ‘Fire and Blood’ and is set 300 years before Game of Thrones.

“It’s my pleasure to announce today that we are ordering ‘House of the Dragon’ straight to series for HBO,” Casey Bloys, president of programming, told a Los Angeles launch event for HBO Max.

“It tells the story of House Targaryen and the early days of Westeros.”

The final season of Game of Thrones gain 12 Emmy awards including best drama series. Meanwhile House of the Dragon was presented as “the next great chapter in George’s saga.”
