GMA Artist Center stars Janine Gutierrez and André Paras signed up as WWF-Philippines’ National Youth Ambassadors last March 14, 2017 at the GMA Network Center.
Janine, who is a lover of the seas and the beach, has a special advocacy for waste management and proper garbage disposal. Growing up, she has always looked up to WWF and is ecstatic to actually be a part of the WWF family.
“Mahilig talaga ako sa beach, so it’s always been a priority for me kung paano ko maalagaan ‘yung Pilipinas, lalo na’t sobrang ganda ng mga natural resources at mga tourist spots natin, so super happy talaga ako that I’m the new ambassador for WWF. I’m beyond grateful,” she said.
André, who has been celebrating Earth Hour for many years now, believes in the power of the global movement and going “Beyond the Hour” as the switch-off is a symbolic commitment to make small changes in our lives.
“I really feel honored and at the same time overwhelmed. I feel like I’m a student again. There are things that I’m learning now that I cannot learn in school. I’m proud kasi I get to learn a lot. I’m proud na I can be a bridge to people to help this organization and help our environment,” he said.
Janine Gutierrez is currently part of “Legally Blind” while Andre Paras is part of the GMA Primetime series “Encantadia”.
Even as a young girl, Kapuso young actress Bianca Umali is already a fan of the “Mulawin” series topbilled by Richard Gutierrez (as Aguiluz) and Angel Locsin (as Alwina) in 2004.
It was in the same GMA fantaserye that Bianca’s current loveteam, Miguel Tanfelix, who was then just a little boy, played the role of Pagaspas.
“Super-favorite ko po yun noon, as in nagkukunwari akong lumilipad ako tapos ang isa po sa mga naging Halloween costumes ko Mulawin costume, gusto ko pong maging si Alwina kaso sa kasamaang-palad, na-out of stock yung Alwina costume so naging Ravena po ako.”
The Ravenas were the arch-nemesis of the Mulawins.
“Ilang taon lang ba ako noon, five or six?”
“Pero hindi ko po kilala noon si Pagaspas,” Bianca said with a giggle.
And who would have thought that years later, as teenagers, Miguel will be a special part of Bianca’s life and vise-versa!
“Si Pagaspas,” Bianca laughingly refers to her loveteam.
And not even in her wildest dreams that Bianca imagined that she will be part of the upcoming “Mulawin Vs Ravena”, GMA 7’s newest fantaserye this year wherein she will be paired off, once again, with Miguel.
Martin del Rosario won as New Movie Actor in the PMPC Star Awards and as Breakthrough Performance By An Actor in the Golden Screen Awards for the indie movie “Dagim” (in 2011) aside from winning as Best Supporting Actor in the Gawad Urian Awards for the movie “Dagitab” in 2015.
And of course, just like any actor, Martin wishes to win someday a Best Actor trophy.
“Siguro isa siya sa mga goals ko, pero hindi ko siya tinatrabaho na… hindi siya nauuna sa isip ko na, ‘Itong project na ito pang-Best Actor ito!’
“Kasi stress yun. Tsaka ano lang, ako ginagawa ko lang talaga yung pinaka-best ko sa lahat ng ginagawa ko.”
Martin has a five-year contract with GMA.
How will he assess his career as a Kapuso?
“Masaya akong maging Kapuso! As in may mga plano sila para sa akin, magagandang plano. At pinagkakatiwalaan ko naman sila sa mga plano na sinasabi nila sa akin.”
Aside from being an actor, Martin is also a businessman; he owns The Armory resto-bar in Quezon City .
He has also purchased his own condo unit.
“Pero plano ko ring ibenta after mga three years para bumili ulit ng condo, parang buy and sell.”
Very much single, the Kapuso hunk has no plans of rushing into a relationship just so the gay rumors about him should vanish into thin air!
“Hindi, hindi. Hindi ko naman kailangang madaliin dahil sa mga tsismis.”
Why is he still not in a romantic relationship?
“Kasi enjoy ako with my family, with friends, masaya naman ako as of now so…
“Dadating naman yung lovelife,” says the Kapuso hunk who is part of the GMA Afternoon Prime series “Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa” with Julie Anne San Jose, Benjamin Alves and LJ Reyes.
