NARRATED Abu Hurairah – May Allah be pleased with him – that the Messenger of Allah – Peace Be Upon Him [pbuh] – said: “On the Day of Resurrection, Allah shall say: Where are those who loved one another for My Glory? Today I shall place them in My shade, where there’s no other shade but Mine.”

The noblest of all love is that which is purely dedicated for the Glory of Allah. The Messenger of Allah [pbuh] says in a Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – «Whoever wishes to taste the sweetness of faith, let him love his fellow (brother) just for the Glory of Allah».
He [pbuh] further instructed us that «If any if you love his fellow (friend / brother), let him go to his house and inform him that he loves him for (the Glory of) Allah». Certainly, such a declaration mandates mutual love, respect and sincerity between the two that normally lasts forever. Such a love is a manifest of the Hadith «None of you is a true believer unless you love for your (fellow) brother what you love for yourself». When such a love prevails amongst the believers, there shall be no room for backbiting, envy or gossip.
Mu’az bin Jabal – May Allah be pleased with him – says: I heard the Messenger of Allah [pbuh] saying: «Those who love one another for (the Glory of) Allah, shall be (on the Day of Resurrection) sitting on pulpits (made) of lights, in the shade of the Throne; where there’s no other shade but this shade».
Narrated Omar bin Al-Khattab – May Allah be pleased with him – Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] said: «Surely, some of God blessed servants are neither Prophets nor Martyrs; yet they are special People, who on the Day of Reckoning, the Prophets and the Martyrs will envy them for their ranks and nearness to their God. A Companion asked, O Messenger of Allah, who are they, and what kind of deeds do they perform so that we may love Them as well?”
Messenger of God (pbuh) said, They are People who love one another in God, even though they have no consanguineous ties, money to exchange or worldly business to barter with. I swear by God on the Day of Reckoning, their faces will be effulgent lights and they will be raised on Pulpits of Light. They will not be subject to fear when the creation is seized by the awesomeness of the Day of Resurrection, nor will they be subjected with sorrow when the rest of creation will be seized by it. He [PBUH] then recited, «Surely, the Patrons of Allah shall have no fear nor shall they grieve» [10:62]
May Allah bless us with sincerity in all our work and deeds, and the wisdom to dedicate them purely for His Glory, Amen.
